حقائق هامة
- يميل المدخنون إلى الإستخفاف بخطورة التبغ على صحتهم.
- التحذيرات الصحية الفعالة على علب السجائر تشجّع المدخنين على الإقلاع عن التدخين وتردع غير المدخنين عن الإقدام عليه.
- التحذيرات الصحية الفعالة على علب السجائر تتضمن صورا صادمة كبيرة الحجم، وتستخدم لغة قوية وواضحة ومحددة.
- تفرض 20 سلطة قضائية - لدى أقل من 9% من سكان العالم- أن تغطي التحذيرات الصحية المصورة 50% أو أكثر من مساحة أسطح العبوة.
- يعيش حوالي نصف سكان العالم في بلدان لم تضع قيودا مناسبة على إستخدام تعابيرمضللة مثل "خفيف" أو "منخفض القار".
- تلزم المادة 11 من إتفاقية منظمة الصحة العالمية الإطارية بشأن مكافحة التبغ الأطراف بتطبيق شرط التحذيرات القوية على العبوة، و بحظر إستخدام تعابير مضللة مثل "خفيف" ، أو "منخفض القار"، أو "معتدل"، وكذلك أي ملامح في تصميم العبوة توحي بتلك المعاني.
