  • التدخين المستمريرتبط إلى حد كبير بعدوى مرض السُلّ.
  • التعرض للتدخين غير المباشر يرتبط إلى حد كبيربمرض السُلّ، وبإنتقال عدوى السُلَ بين الأطفال والشباب
  • يمكن تجنب واحدة من بين 5 حالات وفاة تحدث بسبب السُلّ لو كان المرضى غير مدخنين
  • يحتاج المدخنون المصابون بالسُلّ إلى المشورة و المساعدة من أجل الإقلاع عن التدخين
  • يمكن إعداد المشورة للإقلاع عن التدخين دون الحاجة إلى تدريب طويل أو باهظ التكاليف
