Mass media campaigns resource
About the mass media resource
Mass media campaigns are an effective tobacco control strategy. They increase knowledge of the health risks of tobacco use, encourage quitting and motivate behaviour change in both smokers and non-smokers.
As part of its work under the Bloomberg Initiative to Reduce Tobacco Use, the Union convened a taskforce of international experts in health communications to compile a selection of proven anti-tobacco media campaigns from around the world.
The campaigns are suitable for adaptation and use in low- and middle-income countries. They can also be used as a resource to support concept development for new campaigns.
The mass media resource is now maintained and hosted by the World Lung Foundation.
