World No Tobacco Day 2012

On the event of World No Tobacco Day, The Union joins ASH Scotland and The University of Edinburgh to present Tobacco Industry Interference and Plain Packaging: Lessons from Australia, a public talk by Anne Jones, CEO of ASH Australia and technical advisor to The Union. The talk will take place at The University of Edinburgh at 9.30 am on Thursday 31 May 2012.

The theme of the 43rd Union World Conference on Lung Health reflects the need for innovative finance and quality assurance mechanisms to ensure a sustainable health response.  It emphasises the mutual responsibility of donors, government, civil society organisations and affected communities, policy-makers, researchers, and implementers for achieving common goals.
