Leadership and general management for tobacco control, Dhaka, March 2007


The first Leadership and general management for tobacco control course was held in Dhaka, Bangladesh from 11-20 March 2007. It was jointly organised by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the WHO and The Union, with support from the Work for a Better Bangladesh Trust and Bangladesh Anti-Tobacco Alliance. Of the 26 participants, 21 were NGO members (e.g. National Heart Foundation, Law and Society Trust Bangladesh) and five were government officials. The course faculty came from The Union’s Paris office and India Resource Centre, as well as from the WHO and other partners. A meeting was held on 10 April at which participants gave feedback on the course.
