Join The Union in Scotland this autumn for a Centennial Campaign biking and hiking adventure in some of northern Britain's most beautiful countryside.

Above-Loch-Lomond-crop 1The coast-to-coast John Muir Way takes in 215 km of stunning scenery and important historical buildings including the Antonine Wall, Linlithgow Palace and Edinburgh Castle. Bikers and walkers are both welcome to help reach our £5,000 fundraising goal. Participants can use our Virgin Money Giving page to sign up and raise sponsorship.

Those on bikes will complete the full 215 km route from Thursday 25 – Saturday 27 September.

Walkers will hike the final 24km stage of the route on Saturday 27 September.

The Union's Centennial Campaign will raise funds for its innovative independent research and education programmes in the lead up to 20 October 2020 – the 100th anniversary. These programmes have made important contributions to the global fight against tuberculosis and lung disease since The Union was founded, and continue to be core activities in 150 countries today.

The John Muir Way opened this year in honour of the Scottish environmentalist who died a century ago. Muir fought to protect wilderness landscapes in the UK and America, including the Yosemite Valley and Sequoia National Park.

Please note: if you do not exercise regularly you will need to train for this event.
